Carnicería opened in september 1999. Owned by Ian and Sheila it is a continental style bar and restaurant specialising in tapas, a type of spainish cuisine. Carnicería or ‘Carni’s’, is open every evening (closed Christmas and New Years Day), and serves lunches Friday- Sunday, Bank Holidays and School Holidays. The bar exsisted before Carniceria, and the reputation has been built upon by Ian and Sheila. The name Carnicería means “Butcher’s Shop” in Spanish, which pays homage to the previous usage of the building as a butchers.
Carni’s offers a selection of quality foreign beers, offering real ale as well. During the week Carni’s is often a relaxed informal venue that becomes a vibrant bustling bar at the weekend.
