More than 400 products from Q Guild members across the UK were assessed by an independent panel of judges, made up of both industry experts and lay judges.<\/p>\n
For good measure, Addy\u2019s also picked up silver awards for its traditional pork pies and mince and onion pasties.<\/p>\n
Brindon Addy, who is north-east regional chairman and national vice-chairman of the Q Guild, the UK\u2019s top independent butchers\u2019 organisation, established a trading partership with Nook Brewhouse earlier this year when introducing three new products containing its beers. It was the first foray into the meat trades competition arena for the Nookie Pie.<\/p>\n
Brindon said: \u201cAs a Q Guild member, we regard ourselves as among Britain\u2019s best butchers and these awards prove that we have the products to match. Winning a Smithfield Award definitely adds value and prestige to our business as a whole.\u201d<\/p>\n
